If you follow my blog you know that I love to use activities and games that incorporate current kid interests into the music room.  So, here's a classroom idea:

Play a pass-catch music game.  Using either melodic or rhythmic flashcards, the teacher will read a card to the students and they must write the pattern they hear, either in stick rhythm or staff notation.  If they write it correctly then they "caught" the football!!!
